The EBRD is taking steps to help cleaning the wastewater flowing into Lake Sevan, one of Armenia’s landmarks, and to secure reliable water provision for local communities.

Istanbul has grown rapidly in recent decades and car use in the city has risen sharply, causing major traffic congestion. The EBRD is helping commuters get to work quickly and easily by supporting the privatisation of Istanbul’s main ferry company.

The Serbian capital’s picturesque location – right at the confluence of the Danube and Sava rivers – hides a major problem for its citizens: it isn’t easy to navigate through or even access the city.

Following this year’s theme of Supporting Markets – Asia Meets Europe, more than half of the contingent flocked to the Central Asian steppe, mostly by air, from outside Kazakhstan – from places as far away as the United States, western Europe and eastern Asia.
